About OuraniaArt
Here you can learn more about the person behind OuraniaArt & discover my passions and values that shape my work.

That's me
I am Elena, a (marine) biologist, ornithologist, and national park ranger with Austrian-Greek roots. Growing up between mountains and the sea, I developed a deep love for nature and all its creatures. The ocean holds a special place in my heart, serving as both a source of inspiration for my art and a place to breathe and recharge. Alongside my work as an illustrator, I am also a passionate nature photographer.

My values
Mindfulness, awareness of our natural world and its inhabitants, pausing and observing – these are the values I aim to convey through my art. I invite you to discover the beauty in the small things, cultivate a respectful relationship with our environment, and embrace openness for our planet.
For all products, I prioritize sustainability and social fairness wherever possible.

My artwork
OuraniaArt is the result of a challenging year. What began as a personal refuge gradually grew into a way for me to share my passion for nature with others.
My illustrations are intended to inspire a deeper appreciation for all the fascinating creatures of our planet. They are inspired by real species, yet they take creative liberties rather than following every identifying detail. Each piece is often accompanied by intriguing facts – because we can only protect what we truly know and understand.
"The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of humanity."
- Charles Darwin
My art styles
My work moves between two worlds: the softness of watercolour and the precision of fine line art, sometimes blending the two into a single expression.
Watercolor
Whenever I’m on the road, my tiny watercolor set comes along.
Much of this colorful troupe was created abroad.
Fine line art
When working with fine-tipped pens, I like to use pointillism to bring my drawings to life.
There is something meditative about placing each individual dot, and I am always struck by how a handful of dots can transform an entire image.
